IRS Appointment AngstViews: 222

Hello Everyone!

So I am headed to Texas tomorrow – it is actually for a work conference but I plan to see Mom and Jay for a few days after the conference is over. Unfortunately, it won’t be too much fun as the majority of my time will be spent doing paper work – yuck! As luck would have it, in the midst of my mom fighting stage IV rectal cancer, we must also prepare for an IRS audit. My sister has worked very hard on getting some of the paper work together and I worked on it in February when I was down visiting as well, but the appointment is on the 29th of March so we really need to finish getting all of our ducks in a row. We tried to get the appointment put off, but March 29th is the final day we could schedule it. It is hard to convey the frustration I feel over this. My mom must go in for chemotherapy on Monday the 26th, be hooked up to a fanny pack of Fluorouracil for three days, get the chemotherapy pack removed on the 28th and then talk to an IRS agent on the 29th! Could the timing be any worse?! My fingers are crossed that everything goes well as I won’t be able to be in Texas for the audit…

On a brighter note, I found a program that will pay for my mom’s MEGACE ES. This is great because even with insurance, this prescription costs $238 a month! And for the $238 prescription we paid for, I found a $25 rebate coupon (go to nickysfight.com and search for MEGACE ES, it will be the second link on the top of the page). I also added a link to the Partnership for Prescription Assistance over on the right hand side of nickysfight.com as well because that is where I found the MEGACE ES program.
