Mom's tired of Neuropathy and cold weatherViews: 235

Hi Everyone

I’m in Colorado hanging out with Mom. We got a hotel room so we could hibernate together, watch TV, and do our nails. Maggie is here with us too. This afternoon we had lunch with Grams, Julie and Living which was really fun. Then we hung out at Julie’s house and played Upwords for a couple hours. Mom is doing pretty well but a little wiped out from the day. She got both the Neulasta and Neumega shots on Tuesday. Then just the Neumega shot yesterday, today and again for the next 7 days. As usual, they cause her pretty fair bone pain, weakness, tiredness and a slight nausea. But she is taking it all in stride and I think I’m more tired than she is!

Dr. Kane said Mom will be switching to the Folfuri on her next chemo session in a week and a half. This chemotherapy shouldn’t have the same effect of the neuropathy. This will be great because having neuropathy in Colorado in the middle of winter is not a good thing! She also said that Mom should have 4 more chemotherapy treatments which should take approximately 2 months before they perform another PETScan. We are hoping for more good results on the next scan!

I fly home tomorrow morning and I’m not sure when I’ll be back to Colorado the next time. So I’m really sad to be going. I’ll miss you, Momma! But I’ll be back soon. xoxoxoxox
